Conservative or restorative dentistry restores the structure of natural teeth that have suffered caries, wear due to crowding, trauma or fissures. If the condition reaches the dental pulp or nerve of the tooth, endodontics should be performed prior to conservative treatment.

Dental caries is the most common pathology requiring restorative treatment. It comes from the reaction between bacteria and food sugars and affects tooth enamel. If not treated in time, it continues to invade the deeper tissues of the tooth such as dentin and dental pulp.

Our specialists in conservative dentistry treat caries by removing all infected tissue and restoring it with biocompatible materials, always under absolute isolation of the tooth to prevent the entry of bacteria.

Types of dental restoration

  • Fillings or fillings

They are performed in one session and restore the damaged space with a resin material called composite.

  • Reconstructions

The same procedure and material is applied as for fillings, with the difference that the volume to be restored is larger. In the indicated cases we insert a small fiberglass pole inside for greater stability.

  • Inlays

In a first session we prepare the tooth generating the space for the restoration. We then took digital records to design and create a custom ceramic block that we will place in a second session.

  • Covers or crowns

We apply the same procedure and material as for inlays, with the difference that the caps need more preparation and cover the entire tooth.
